Profile

David Gutiérrez Camps

David Gutiérrez Camps (Vidreres, 1982) works as a director and visual artist in Barcelona. His work combines two opposing creative trends: one leading him towards the simplest form of minimalism and another that pushes him towards extreme manipulation. His latest works, Water in the Boat and 175 have been shown at international festivals such as CPH Dox in Copenhagen and the Image Festival in Toronto and have been screened at venues such as "Anthology Film Archives" in New York and "Le Bal" in Paris, alongside film-makers including Raymond Depardon and Stan Brakhage.

In 2008 he moved to New York, with a scholarship from the Riera Gubau Foundation where he produced his most significant work to date: Water in the Boat (Finalist Award, Curt.doc.) and 175. Since returning to Barcelona, he has directed Internet advertising campaigns for brands such as
Skype and Hewlett Packard and has made video clips for Sanjosex, Guillamino and other artists, while preparing his most ambitious project: The Juan Bushwick Diaries (2013).
