(Münster, 1979). Degree in visual arts (PUC, Chile 1998-2001), Diploma in Aesthetics and contemporary thought (UDP, Chile 2002), and Masters in Creative Documentary (UAB 2004-05). Currently working on a PhD in Audio-visual Communications (UAB).
In parallel, she works as an artist on projects which through collaborative productions problematize the construction of social imaginariums in folk culture. Some of these projects have been conducted with groups of graffiti artists, prisoners and immigrants as members of the production team.
Since 1999 she has been working on the de-localised project of multiple identity called Hilda Yáñez, publishing fanzines, board games and performance art events on commission.
From 2005 to 2008, she was a member of desBASURAment, a Barcelona group processing waste materials and mnemotechnics.
Since 2009 she has been an active member of the group minipimer.tv, resident in Hangar-Barcelona, working on real-time video, streaming, development of critical thought and production of artefacts with free tools.
Since 2001 she has conducted independent communication projects on community radio and television, and creative and immodest writing which she currently publishes on her blog (http://blog.lucysombra.org)
In 2011 she made her first documentary “My sexuality is an artistic creation” which has been screened at festivals and forums in over 15 countries.
She has received grants from Hangar for residences abroad at Mideplan (Chile), CCDFB and Conca.
She has taken part in art forums such as Transmediale (Germany), ERA (Uruguay), Piksel (Norway) and Liwoli (Austria); her work has been shown at the Museo de la Solidaridad (Chile), Palacio de Bellas Artes (Mexico), Macba, CCCB and FAD (Barcelona), Círculo de Bellas Artes and Medialab Prado (Madrid), among others.
