Art and communication studio run jointly by Yon and Xabier Martínez-Jauregi. Yon Martínez-Jauregi graduated in Journalism from Universidad del País Vasco and is completing his doctorate in Audio-visual Communication and Publicity at the same university. Xabier Martínez-Jauregi graduated in Fine Arts, specialising in audio-visuals, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Universidad del País Vasco. He continued his training in audio-visual experimentation at the Centre for Image and New Technologies of Vitoria-Gasteiz and he has completed postgraduate studies in filmmaking and video at the London Institute, currently the University of the Arts, London.
The studio produces and organises projects that focus on creation, communication, education and exhibition in artistic and creative formats. Its projects include MID_E, Platform for the Arts and Contemporary Creative Practices (since 2003) and MODATIK, Encounters between the Visual Arts and Fashion (since 2011). It offers exhibitions, screenings, musical sessions, master classes, workshops and conferences.
Colectivo YOX has collaborated with players from the world of art and culture in the Basque Country, including: Arteleku, BilbaoArte, Montehermoso, CICC-Tabakalera, Cristóbal Balenciaga Museoa, EITB, KM Kulturunea, Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, San Telmo Museum, Universidad del País Vasco.
Its programmes include emerging authors and professionals of recognised prestige in fields that include the plastic, visual and action arts, musical creation and fashion, publishing and art direction.
