Ignasi Blanch Gisbert has a degree in Fine Art from the University of Barcelona, and later lived for three years in Berlin, where he specialised in printing and etching techniques at the “Künstlerhaus Bethanien” Centre, supported by two CIRIT grants provided by the Regional Government of Catalonia.
Following the fall of the Berlin Wall, he was chosen to participate in the international “East Side Gallery” project, in which he was Spain's only representative.
His painting about the Wall can be seen in the reproduction he made in his native city, Roquetes (Tarragona).
He currently works as an illustrator for diverse publishing houses and, since 2001, has also participated regularly in exhibitions and teaching sessions at the Saarbrücken Book Fair for Young People (Germany).
