María Ruido is a visual artist, director, researcher and lecturer at the Image Department at Barcelona University.
After studying Contemporary History, History of Art and Cultural Studies at Santiago de Compostela, Madrid, Lisbon and London, she has worked on interdisciplinary projects (particularly on visual rehearsals and installations) since 1998. Her films and research focus on the construction of identities, on the images of work in global capitalism and also on the mechanisms that construct the collective memory and their relationships with different historical narratives.

María Ruido currently lives between Barcelona and Tunis, where is she is currently working on her next two film projects.
