ARTELEKU

Following on from a research project I am currently involved in I propose to continue the experience, sharing it in the form of a workshop. The project stands at a crossroads of intentions arising out of my own interests, within the framework of three performance art works by different artists. By limiting the framework to these pieces and re-visiting them, my purpose is to free up new working spaces.
The pieces in question are:
Water Walk by John Cage (1960), Locus by Trisha Brown (1975) and Organic Honey's Visual Telepathy by Joan Jonas (1972). I have selected them for the objects they use, the gestures of identity they contain and also for the strategies of self-realisation they employ, not to mention a number of other contextual, operational and analytical features and the significance of these works within the history of performance art.

The workshop is associated with a need to revisit these works, in order to extract the following intentions as tools: crossing form, finding a fixed position in different platforms and creating a strategy, as a means of sharing all these elements as a product of the circumstances.
The workshop will try to examine the three performance pieces and develop notions of annotation for developing a score. The purpose of this annotation is not to capture the meaning or execution of the original performance, but rather the singularity of suggesting the birth of something; the execution of a present within a context determined by the artists who executed the original performances; putting into practice, activating and using the real event as a context to create a score and as an opportunity to share a series of given objects, elements and decisions to benefit a present and work towards a future.
