A year ago we formed a working group to tackle the problem of production and process in artistic praxis. This group was formed on the basis of a highly specific praxis: a number of workshops/lectures were held in which other artists who could develop their own proposals within the framework in which we were working for invited to take part. These workshops were linked together with all the mobility of a particularly beautiful corpse, in an attempt to shape them into a single process.
Debería habértelo dicho antes ["I should have told you earlier"] is a phase that arose after this process. It comprises three parts:

Workshop
Lab #7:Idilios de un dispositivo ["Idylls of a Device"]

December 9-13, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pieces and documents used during the cycle of workshops will be presented in an expositional format. The idea is to attempt to escape from the conclusive nature that is inherent to this format. To that end, the workshop will use the expositional format to work on the link between the remainders (the pieces/documents). We will work on materialising readings that a rise when pieces are connected one to another, seeking to break away from certain treatments and thus generate continual re-readings. This seminar is divided into two parts:

1· Reception: Saturday, December 14 at 4 p.m., in the Reflex venue

The first event will take place in the Reflex venue, attended by all the guests who have taken part in the cycle of workshops. The group CsO will present and discuss the dynamics of the whole process and on each individual workshop. The 20-minute video by Eusebio Soria produced from the documents registered will be shown.

2· Opening -- Roundtable: Saturday, December 14 at 7 p.m. at the Arteleku
The installation resulting from workshop #7 Idilios de un dispositivo ["Idylls of a Device"] will be set up as an exhibition area and meeting venue. At this time, the venue will serve as an opening and at the same time as the setting for a roundtable discussion bringing together the voices of all the artists who have formed part of the project. The idea of this event is to formalise still further the shared praxis established for meetings of this kind: a celebration of the work done and a critique of that work.

We visualise that in terms of a spring, with each individual workshop representing one turn which leads to the next, resulting in a set of superimposed layers interconnected one to another. This effort to produce a process, closes circle, comes to a stop here to leave time to think. (...)"
