Laura Ginès

Laura Ginès is graduated in Art and Design (UAB –  the Autonomous University of Barcelona) and qualified as a Higher Technician in Illustration at the Escola Massana. She was the co-founder and member of Laboratorium, the multi-disciplinary studio, for over ten years.  

Some of her videos and films are part of the Arxiu Xcèntric of the  CCCB (Barcelona Contemporary Culture Centre) dedicated to experimental films and of the Bòlit Arxiu Actiu (Girona Contemporary Art Centre), and are also in the Hamaca catalogue. Laura has showcased and screened her work in leading centres worldwide, including San Francisco’s Cinemàteque, the Anthology Film Archives in New York or the Reina Sofia Museum and Art Centre in Madrid.  She is a regular contributor to Xinacittà, the Barcelona International Auteur Animated Film Festival, and has worked as an independent programmer at art centres including Can Felipa, and at different events such as L’Alternativa, the Barcelona Independent Film Festival, or Animac, the International Animation Film Festival of Catalonia (Lleida).

Laura is currently working on her personal project L'Arca de Noè (Noah’s Ark), an interactive work based on the work of the same name by the musician Xavier Montsalvatge.

As regards her teaching work, apart from the numerous workshops and seminars that she has taught at art schools and centres, Laura has been linked to the Escola Massana since 2006 and is currently in charge of the degree audiovisual projects at the Elisava, Escola Superior de Disseny i Enginyeria de Barcelona.
